We are
We are men,
we are rows of vines
we follow in silence
the heartbeat of nature.
Season after season,
vintage after vintage.
Who we are: our family, our history, our tradition
The winemaking tradition of this land has its roots in the ancient past. As early as 177 BC a Roman colony named “Portus Lunae” was founded at the mouth of the Magra River. Pliny the Elder, in his encyclopedic “Naturalis historia” wrote about the wine of this place: “Etruriae Luna palma habet …” (65 AD): “… in Etruria, the wines of Luna bear away the palm…”. This is the origin and inspiration behind our name, embodying all the principles that guided and continue to guide our work in the vineyard and in the cellar. The Bosoni family has always been rooted in this land. For four generations, for business and for pleasure, we have done three things: tended the vines, produced wine, and preserved the great culture and history of our land.
Who we are: a family, a history, a tradition.
What we believe: our philosophy
Manifesto
We believe that wine is a living organism that evolves, expresses itself and develops its own personal identity. Of course, human intervention has a role to play, helping the wine to convey an authentic expression of its territory of origin. We believe in a union between knowledge and emotion, in maintaining a balanced and harmonious relationship with mother nature who welcomes and nourishes us. We also believe in our community, with whom we have a common history, shared over generations.
Ethics and sustainability
Tradition and experimentation
Cantine Lunae embraces the native vines of the region. The Vermentino vine, with which we have a long history, but also Albarola, Vermentino Nero, Malvasia, Pollera Nera and Massareta. Our vines extend to an area of over 65 hectares. Our commitment to respecting the territory also includes organic viticulture, the cultivation of new vineyards with local winemaking traditions and, above all, a commitment to green energy, embodied in the use of solar and geothermal energy and production facilities with low environmental impact.
Community and biodiversity
Our extended family includes about 100 small local winemakers. So not only is the way we respect the land underpinned by environmental values, we also value relationships. Relationships with individuals and with small businesses, valuing their work and emphasizing our unique and authentic relationship with the earth.
